Frequently Asked Questions
What Happens in Meetings? - The Christian message is shared in a down to earth, easy to understand and enjoyable manner. Music plays an important part, in song, both by our songsters (choir) and congregation, as well as the band. The accent is on enjoying a personal faith in a personal friend, Jesus Christ.
Do I have to wear a uniform? - The short answer is "NO". The uniform is worn by members who, of their own free will, have made a full commitment ro become Soldiers of the Salvation Army but the uniform is not compulsory. Many people who attend do not wear a uniform but are still able to share in Christian fellowship having chosen the Salvation Army as their Church.
Can Anyone Attend? - Quite simply "YES". The Salvation Army knows no barriers of race, education, social position, age or sex. Consequently, you, your family, friends and neighbours are all welcome.
What Sort of People are Salvationists? - Very little difference from most people! They come from all classes of society and all parts of the world. There are Salvationist teachers. sportsmen, dustmen and politicians, illiterate Salvationists and Salvationists with doctorates. There are Salvationists whose parents, grandparents and great grandparents were attached to the Army, Salvationists who, but a few weeks ago belonged to many different churches or none at all.
